Birth certificates are available for all births that took place in Kansas from July 1, 1911, to the present.

Who Can Receive A Copy?

Under Kansas law, birth certificates are not public records, and only those with direct interest may be issued certified copies of birth certificates. Eligible applicants for certified birth certificate copies include the registrant themself (the person whose name appears on the record), immediate family, their legal representative, or anyone with a direct interest, including a named beneficiary and someone who jointly owns property with the registrant. If not the registrant or an immediate family member, you must provide written authorization or proof of direct interest.
